Content Developer II – IT (Power BI Focused)
Location: Atlanta, GA.
Contract- 6 Months
Client- Southern Company Services.
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Content Developer II – IT with strong expertise in Power BI dashboard development, data modeling, and reporting solutions.
This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports that support business decision-making. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building Power BI solutions from scratch and can translate business requirements into optimized, user-friendly reporting tools.
Key Responsibilities
Dashboard & Report Development
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
- Build reports from scratch aligned with business requirements.
- Optimize reports for performance, scalability, and usability.
Data Modeling & Query Development
- Develop robust data models using best practices:
- Star schema
- Normalization
- Write and maintain advanced:
- DAX (Data Analysis Expressions)
- M (Power Query Formula Language)
- Integrate data from multiple sources including:
- Excel
- SharePoint
- Cloud platforms
Security & Governance
- Implement Row-Level Security (RLS).
- Manage workspace permissions and access controls.
- Ensure compliance with reporting standards and governance practices.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance
- Troubleshoot report performance issues.
- Resolve data refresh failures and connectivity issues.
- Maintain documentation of:
- Data models
- Report logic
- Development processes
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Gather and analyze business requirements.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reporting solutions.
- Communicate technical insights in business-friendly language.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience with:
- Power BI Desktop
- Power BI Service
- Power Query
- Strong proficiency in:
- DAX
- M language
- Experience developing dashboards and reports independently.
- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- High attention to detail and adherence to reporting standards.
