Role Details:Position: Java L3 Support EngineerLocation: London, UKWork Mode: Onsite (5 days/week initially)Contract Duration: 6+ monthPrior experience working in Banking / Financial Services environments is highly preferredExposure to trading systems, payments, risk systems, or core banking platforms is a strong advantageUnderstanding of high-availability, low-latency systems and regulatory environments is beneficial Key Skills Required:Strong hands-on experience in Core JavaSolid expertise in SQLGood working knowledge of UNIXProven experience in L3 / Production Support rolesStrong debugging and troubleshooting skills in live environmentsProvide L3 production support for critical Java-based applicationsDiagnose and resolve complex production issues, ensuring minimal downtimePerform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term fixesWork closely with development, infrastructure, and business teamsMonitor application performance and proactively identify risks/issuesSupport release deployments, patches, and environment stabilityParticipate in incident management, including major incident callsEnsure adherence to SLA, compliance, and operational standardsStrong hands-on experience in Core Java (multithreading, collections, performance tuning)Solid expertise in SQL (query optimization, troubleshooting)Good working knowledge of UNIX/Linux environmentsExperience with production support tools, logging, and monitoring systemsFamiliarity with incident management and ticketing tools (e.g., JIRA, ServiceNow)
