Description
Warren Oil Company, Inc., a leading automotive lubricant manufacturing company, has an immediate need for an experienced Shipping Supervisor for our West Memphis, AR facility. We are looking for a driven individual with strong manufacturing acumen and a track record in continuous improvement.
Shipping Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities
- Proactively implement, promote and maintain a safe working environment and OSHA compliance.
- Established and maintained an environment conducive to continuous improvement in shipping; recommended alternatives for improving shipping efficiency and working conditions.
- Participated in and directed problem-solving meetings and activities (i.e. accident investigations, quality concerns, etc.).
- Fostered innovation and promote continuous learning and lean manufacturing.
- Facilitate and advise employees within the assigned department to meet value stream goals, departmental goals, and balance scorecard objectives.
- Conduct weekly cycles while assisting with root cause analysis and implementing solutions to drive inventory accuracy performance.
- Drive activities to reduce past due, scrap, rework and overtime cost while meeting quality objectives.
- Drive activities to improve labor utilization and productivity.
- Conduct process checks within areas of responsibility and monitored performance to establish standard work formats and pacing boards.
- Train, evaluate, coach, and develop subordinates to help them meet established objectives and improve their overall performance and competencies.
- Maintain and consistently administer local policies to meet day-to-day operating requirements while ensuring that all regulatory standards and company policies are understood, supported, and followed.
- Promote positive employee relations and monitor the performance of employees to ensure success within the organization, identify and implement improvement opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisor Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Required.
- 3+ years supervisory experience required preferably in a warehouse/logistics environment.
- Experience as a key trainer in scanning and procedures required.
- Effective communication skills (verbal, written, presentational, and interpersonal).
- Proven ability to organize, plan and prioritize tasks within a high volume, varied workload.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Project knowledge preferred.
- Working knowledge of computerized inventory systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours is required.
- Experience in Inventory Control.
