Position Summary
- It is a core strategic function designed to align communications directly with business objectives. You will act as an internal consultant and advisor, developing and executing integrated communications strategies that protect and elevate our corporate reputation, empower our executives, and demonstrate measurable value to the business.
Main Tasks
- Strategic Planning & Counsel:
Develop and execute a data-informed, holistic communications strategy aligned with the company's core business goals and key initiatives (e.g., market expansion, product launches, transformation).
Serve as a trusted strategic counselor to senior leaders and cross-functional/SBU partners (Product, Marketing, HR, Legal…), providing expert guidance on communication opportunities and risks.
Conduct ongoing landscape analysis (media, industry, competitor) to identify trends and translate insights into actionable communication recommendations.
- Executive Enablement & Thought Leadership:
Partner directly with CLT to build their voice and profile as industry thought leaders.
Develop and ghostwrite high-impact content including keynote speeches, bylined articles, blog posts, and social media content that articulates the company's vision and strategic priorities.
Coach and prepare executives for media interviews, speaking engagements, and internal events.
- Integrated Reputation Management:
Forge and maintain strategic relationships with top-tier business, trade, and financial media to secure high-quality coverage that shapes the industry narrative.
Proactively manage corporate reputation through strategic storytelling and targeted campaigns.
Develop and lead crisis communication preparedness and response plans.
- Measurement, Analytics & Enablement:
Establish and own a robust measurement framework (OKRs/KPIs) to track, analyze, and report on the impact of communications programs on brand health, reputation, attractiveness, and other business outcomes. Continuous monitoring and analysis of the ZEISS Brand to enable the SBUS in efficient decision-making based on solid data.
Regularly report on communications ROI to leadership, using data to optimize strategies and prove value.
Act as an enabler for the organization by establishing communication best practices, tools, and training for non-communications staff.
Requirements
Education
- University graduate, with extensive and a minimum of 10+ years working experience ideally gained in a multi-national company context, either in-house or a renowned agency, used to working with colleagues and management of diverse backgrounds.
Experience
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English and Chinese, including mastery of various writing formats with expertise in editing.
- Extensive experience in developing and managing integrated communications campaigns and activities involving traditional media and digital channels. Capable to handle relationships with internal and external partners
- Demonstrated ability to effectively establish, lead and maintain collaborative and cooperative working relationships both within and outside of the organization; multicultural awareness required.
- Exceptional organizational skills; shows agility at adapting strategies and tactics.
