As a Security Officer Distribution Site in West Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a dynamic technology location, you will help manage entry points, verify badges and credentials, monitor access control systems, and respond to security-related alarms. - Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology-focused location by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures and security-related policies.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate access-control records in accordance with site procedures.
- Respond to access-control alarms, unauthorized-entry attempts, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including entrances, restricted spaces, parking areas, and the perimeter, to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Communicate professionally with site contacts, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership while documenting observations, incidents, and security-related activities.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
