Description
Specific Role:
The Line Load position is a key role in EMIT's manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for safely and efficiently loading prepped parts onto the automated powder coat line. The Line Load Operator ensures parts are properly hung, visually inspected, and sequenced according to the production schedule to support consistent throughput and high-quality finished products.
Key Accountabilities:
Line Loading
- Safely and securely load parts onto the automated powder coat line using the appropriate hooks, fixtures, and rigging.
- Follow the daily production schedule to ensure parts are loaded in the correct sequence.
- Handle parts carefully during loading to prevent damage, contamination, or distortion.
- Maintain a consistent loading pace to support uninterrupted production flow.
- Verify that parts are properly positioned and secured to ensure effective coating coverage.
Visual Inspection
- Perform a visual inspection of each part before loading to identify scratches, rust, weld spatter, oil, dirt, or other surface defects.
- Remove any non-conforming parts from the production flow and prevent them from entering the coating process.
- Communicate quality concerns promptly to the Production Supervisor or Line Lead.
- Support quality standards by ensuring only properly prepared parts enter the powder coat line.
Rejected Part Handling
- Place rejected or non-conforming parts in the designated hold area.
- Clearly identify rejected parts according to company procedures.
- Notify the appropriate personnel of quality concerns requiring rework or corrective action.
- Assist in maintaining accurate identification and traceability of rejected materials.
Housekeeping & Safety
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area throughout the shift.
- Remove scrap materials, empty pallets, packaging, and other debris as needed.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or potential hazards.
- Support EMIT's commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, production, or material handling experience preferred.
- Ability to safely lift and move materials weighing up to 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks for the duration of the workday.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, production schedules, and safety procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining productivity and accuracy.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and follow EMIT's quality, safety, and operational standards.
- Ability to safely use material handling equipment, lifting devices, and production tools as required.
Physical & Safety Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs. repeatedly.
- Comfortable standing, walking, and moving for the duration of a shift.
- Always use proper PPE when required.
- Follow safety protocols when using tools and handling materials.
