A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Senior Software Asset Management Analyst (SAM), reporting to the IT Manager, Software Asset Management you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing the organization's software asset portfolio. This position focuses on software licensing, compliance, and cost optimization, with deep involvement in ServiceNow SAM Pro and enterprise platforms such as SAP and Oracle. You will partner with IT, Procurement, Finance, and Application teams to ensure accurate license management, compliance, and governance across the enterprise.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- Manage software entitlements, lifecycle, and license allocation across enterprise applications
- Perform software reconciliation to determine license compliance position
- Monitor usage and identify opportunities for reclamation and optimization
- Support renewals, true-ups, and audit readiness
- Maintain accurate software asset records and contract data
- Lead the administration of ServiceNow SAM Pro including software models, entitlements, and reconciliation
- Support compliance reporting and remediation activities
- Optimize SaaS and on-prem license usage
- Partner with ServiceNow team to improve workflows and data quality
- Provide expertise for SAP and Oracle licensing models and compliance
- Support audits, reporting, and contract alignment
- Analyze licensing metrics and optimize deployment
- Assist with delivering insights and action to management
- Develop reports on compliance, usage, cost analysis, savings and optimization
- Support software audits and compliance initiatives
- Contribute to dashboards and ITAM analytics
- Assist the IT Software Asset Manager with executing and improving SAM processes and lifecycle management
- Enforce software policies and governance standards
- Identify process improvements for efficiency and data accuracy
- Partner with IT, Security, Finance, Procurement, and Application Owners
- Support software request fulfillment and governance workflows
- Communicate licensing risks and optimization opportunities
Skills You Bring:
- 5+ years’ experience in Software Asset Management or IT Asset Management
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro
- Strong knowledge of SAP and Oracle licensing models, Microsoft is a plus.
- Experience with compliance, audits, and reconciliation
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
Preferred Skills: (Optional)
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle)
- Familiarity with SaaS licensing (Microsoft, Adobe, etc.)
- Knowledge of ITAM/SAM best practices
- Certifications such as IAITAM or ITIL preferred
