About The Role
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys building reliable cloud infrastructure, automating away manual work, and embedding security into modern engineering practices.
Around half of your time will be spent engineering and improving our cloud platform, with the remainder focused on deployment automation, cloud security operations and identity management. You'll work closely with our Senior DevOps Technical Lead and Senior Information Security Manager, giving you the opportunity to deepen your expertise across platform engineering and security while taking increasing ownership of the environment.
You'll be improving the systems our engineering teams rely on every day - not simply maintaining them.
You'll spend your time:
- Build, automate and improve cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code
- Improve platform reliability, resilience and observability
- Reduce technical debt and eliminate manual operational work
- Monitor platform health and respond to infrastructure incidents
- Help evolve secure cloud architecture alongside senior engineers
- Investigate and triage security alerts
- Improve detection quality and reduce false positives
- Support ISO 27001 controls, audit readiness and security operations
- Work with engineering teams to remediate security issues
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment reliability
- Increase automation and deployment confidence
- Strengthen pipeline security and release processes
- Help engineering teams deliver software safely and consistently
- Manage cloud identity and access controls
- Improve provisioning and access management processes
- Maintain secure, repeatable access governance
- AWS (with some Azure)
- Terraform & Terraform Cloud
- GitHub Action (CI/CD)
- Microsoft Entra ID
- Datadog
- Darktrace
- Microsoft Purview
- Infrastructure as Code
- ISO 27001
You'll love this job if
- You enjoy building cloud platforms rather than simply maintaining them.
- You automate repetitive work whenever you can.
- You like solving infrastructure problems that improve life for other engineers.
- You enjoy working across cloud engineering and security rather than specialising in only one area.
- You're naturally curious and enjoy continuously learning new technologies.
- You like seeing the direct impact your work has on a growing engineering team.
We're looking for someone who
- Has experience building and supporting cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure.
- Has worked with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform.
- Has experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar.
- Understands cloud security principles and has exposure to security operations.
- Has experience with monitoring and observability tooling.
- Enjoys automation, continuous improvement and solving operational problems.
- Wants to continue growing across cloud engineering, DevSecOps and platform engineering.
- Believes in Future Group’s mission and has a passion for moving Australia’s money out of fossil-fuels and into renewable energy
- Believes in using the power of money to build a sustainable and equitable world
