Under the direction of the primary care operations team, the Primary Care Patient Care MA works directly with Mercy Primary Care Providers to provide safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, patient-centered care in a systematic way. The Primary Care Patient Care MA will partner with patients, providers, and other members of the clinical care team to drive quality outcomes for all patients. Qualifications:
*MA Certification Not Required
Primary Care Assistant - Medical Assistant:
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Certification: Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office.
Primary Care - Certified Medical Assistant:
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Certification: Must have active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA). Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
Responsibilities include:
• Support primary care providers by coordinating patient care and ensuring a positive patient experience.
• Room patients, obtain vitals, complete intake, medication reconciliation, and Epic documentation.
• Perform in‑office testing, administer injections/vaccines, and assisted with procedures.
• Support preventive care through screenings, care gap closure, referrals, and follow‑up scheduling.
• Assist with orders, prior authorizations, inventory, and general clinic operations.
