As part of the Identity and Access Management (IAM) team at First Citizens Bank, the Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for analyzing, building, configuring, and maintaining Identity & Access Management Life cycle.  This person should possess strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills as well as experience in the different phases of the software life cycle, to support multiple projects, development of SOP's and day-to-day functional capabilities.

About the Team:

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Program supports end-to-end access management for all employees, contractors and the systems and applications to which access is granted.

Impact:

This position resides within the Cyber Security organization supporting the deployment, engineering and ongoing maintenance of the tools and the systems they utilize to keep the IAM program moving forward. This will be an individual contributor role reporting directly to the IAM Program Manager.

Key Deliverables (Duties and Responsibilities)

• Performs installation, configuration, implementation and troubleshooting of IAM services
• Documents IAM runbook, playbooks, and administration tasks as appropriate
• Interfaces with Application, IT, Infrastructure and Support teams for application integration and runtime issues to the IAM platform
• Delegates IAM tasks and support to Tier-1 and Tier-2 as appropriate.
• Handles production change management per FCB policies.
• Provides primary Level 3 support on IAM issues.
• Automate operational workflows, rule tuning, and reporting using scripting and API-based integrations.
•  Ensure adherence to security policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards, including documentation and evidence readiness.
• Contribute to architecture reviews, technology evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives within the perimeter security domain.

Skills and Qualification (Functional and Technical Skills)

Functional Skills:

• Strong expertise in Java and Analytical skills. Good knowledge of front-end programming and full stack development and deployment
• Ability to customize identity & access management tool for Joiner Mover & Leaver processes.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Ability to balance strategic initiatives with hands-on technical execution.

Technical/Business Skills:

•  10+ Years of experience in full stack development and Deployment.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies [e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks/libraries (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js)]
• Proficiency in back-end technologies (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, or similar)
• Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Experience with configuration management processes (e.g., Git) and in integrating AuthZ and AuthN into the apps
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies
• Experience with Amazon Web Services and containerization (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker) and orchestration technologies
• Should have experience with on-boarding different connector types etc., Active Directory, JDBC, Web Services, SCIM 2.0, Delimited, AWS, Azure etc.
• Experience with writing Custom workflows, rules and implementing custom connectors and Plugins.
• Experience with JAVA to customize solutions in SailPoint and proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role.
• Experience with other IAM Tools like CyberArk, PING, OKTA, RSA SecureID etc., is an advantage.
• Broad understanding overall IAM Program within an Organization.
•  Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills. Ability to handle strong-minded customers effectively and professionally.
