Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the design, engineering, and construction of renewable energy facilities by reviewing civil and structural engineering deliverables, drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
- Coordinate with engineering consultants and contractors to resolve technical issues, manage RFIs, and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Develop and maintain preliminary civil design criteria and specifications for roads, foundations, geotechnical investigations, drainage, hydrology, O&M buildings, solar tracker foundations, and other civil infrastructure.
- Perform periodic site visits to monitor construction quality, safety, engineering compliance, and progress while supporting QA/QC activities.
- Support procurement activities by reviewing technical evaluations, contractor proposals, equipment submittals, and scopes of work for civil construction packages.
- Assist with project estimating, cost forecasting, market analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives by incorporating lessons learned into future project designs.
- Prepare technical reports, project documentation, KPI metrics, and engineering updates to support project execution and provide civil engineering expertise to Operations, Business Development, and other internal stakeholders.
Required Skills and Competencies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering required.
- EIT certification preferred; ability to obtain Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure within one year is preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in civil engineering; experience with utility-scale wind, solar, or Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD; experience with civil engineering software such as ArcGIS, AutoTURN, hydraulic modeling, FEM analysis, or RSMeans is a plus.
- Working knowledge of applicable engineering standards and codes, including ASCE, AASHTO, ASTM, ACI, AISC, and AWS.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and environmental compliance.
- Ability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
Pay & Benefits:
- Base Pay: $85,000 - $105,000 (based on experience, education, and skillset).
- 10% Annual Performance Bonus (based on individual performance and company metrics).
