Highlights:

Summary: The EEG Technician shall learn to perform standard and complex neurodiagnostic procedures under the direct supervision of the Registered EEG Technician, the Lead Technician, or the Neurodiagnostics Manager. The Technician will study EEG books and journals, and study independently and on-line with ASET, ABRET, and other sites approved by the Neurodiagnostics Manager, and in relevant EEG classes to gain knowledge. The Technician should be able to stand alone after a brief orientation period. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role. Education / Experience: High School graduate or equivalent required. All Technicians should complete the ASET self study modules. License / Certification: BLS required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Must possess a high level of patience, well developed communication skills and heightened endurance to work with all age groups under strict guidelines with moderate supervision;
• Able to work under stress and exercise good judgment and reasoning;
• Able to adapt to quickly changing clinical situations;
• Works safely with exposure to disease and hazardous materials;
• Able to analyze data and work with others.
• Understand the mechanics of equipment in Neurodiagnostics as well as other equipment throughout the hospital that may affect neurodiagnostic tests and/or equipment

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: Position requires sitting for 15% of the workday and mobility 85% of the workday.
There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 35 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 275 pounds.
There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels.
Much exposure to computer work.
Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
