Description
We're looking for an exceptional Content Editor to lead our new Travel Hub, shaping a premium, multi-platform destination that inspires audiences and unlocks new commercial opportunities. Sitting at the intersection of editorial excellence and innovation, you'll define content strategy, drive partnerships and create distinctive travel journalism, that drive audience growth, engagement and revenue. What you’ll do
Lead the Travel vertical, shaping a clear editorial identity for a consumer video focused vertical
Deliver on the commercial strategy aligned to Sky News’ overall proposition
Deliver a balanced content mix spanning various strands of video journalism, inspiration, analysis and long-form storytelling across platforms
Identify and develop commercially viable content opportunities, including partnerships, sponsorships and branded formats, while maintaining editorial integrity
Own the end-to-end commissioning and production of travel content, ensuring consistency, quality and distinctiveness
Partner closely with commercial, product and audience teams to align content output with revenue, growth and engagement targets
Build relationships with external partners to enhance the breadth and authority of the Travel offer
Ensure all content is optimised for digital-first, video-led and emerging formats, maximising reach and value across platforms
Essential Criteria
Strong editorial judgement with a deep understanding of travel audiences, able to deliver distinctive, agenda-setting content
Ability to collaborate and drive 3rd party relationships.
Proven ability to operate at the intersection of editorial and commercial, balancing audience value with revenue opportunities
Leadership capability to inspire and manage multi-disciplinary teams delivering across text, video, audio and social formats
Advanced commissioning and production skills, with the ability to shape complex stories into compelling multi-platform output
Commercial awareness, including experience of partnerships, branded content and audience monetisation models
Excellent stakeholder management, able to work effectively across editorial, commercial and product functions
Deep understanding of digital, platform and format innovation, with the ability to evolve the Travel vertical in line with audience behaviours
Strong organisational and planning skills, ensuring consistent delivery against both editorial priorities and commercial goals
