Compensation: $2,750 Stipend + Campus Perks (Meals, Gym, Pool)

What You’ll Do & Create

As our Varsity Assistant Coach, you will work hand-in-hand with the Head Coach to ensure a cohesive, high-quality experience for all student-athletes.

  • Foster a High-Belonging Team Culture: Inspire student-athletes to prioritize sportsmanship, team success, and mutual respect. Help players navigate the balance between rigorous academic workloads and high-level athletic competition.
  • Support Practice & Player Growth: Assist the Head Coach in planning and executing skill-focused practices, running drills, and giving individual feedback on tactical court development.
  • Assist on Match Days: Travel with the team and assist with match management, scores/stats tracking, and van driving for away matches, modeling poise and positive sportsmanship from the court-side.
  • Support Program Operations: Assist with managing team uniforms, equipment care, posting match results to the league website, and keeping communication clear with families and athletic leadership.

Who You Are (Core Qualifications)

  • Coaching / Court Experience: Prior tennis coaching or competitive playing experience at the high school (grades 9–12) or collegiate level.
  • Great Communicator: Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to connect authentically with high school athletes, parents, and coaching staff.
  • Adolescent Mindset: A genuine love for sports and an intuitive understanding of high school dynamics, student growth, and positive motivation.
  • Reliable & Committed: Ability to commit to a full seasonal schedule across all weekdays and match days.

Preferred Qualifications (Can be acquired upon hire):

  • CIF Coaching Certification
  • CPR / First Aid / AED Certification
  • Concussion Training Certification

Schedule & Availability Needs

  • Full-Season Availability: Must be available Monday through Friday during the fall athletic season.
  • Practices: Weekday afternoons from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM.
  • Match Travel: Ability to drive school vans and travel to away matches (departing as early as 2:00 PM and returning as late as 9:00 PM).
  • School Events: Attendance at the Pre-Season Parent Meeting and Post-Season Awards Banquet.
