Description
The Corporate Banking Analyst in Qatar is focused on the management of a portfolio of Large Corporate, Public Sector and Financial Institution clients. This is an entry-level professional role focusing on delivering a range of treasury / financial solutions, corporate finance and advisory services to clients. The Analyst will work alongside Corporate Banking team in supporting execution workstreams across Citi’s product suite. The overall objective of this role is to support credit analytical work, transaction execution, pitch presentations and KYC due diligence to support effective management of client relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in client transactions, projects or assignments as the junior member of a professional team
- The Analyst in Corporate Banking is junior member of team expected to lead on credit analytical work of existing relationships, including periodic review of financial results to monitor performance as well as preparation of credit and capital approval proposals for new requests.
- Stay abreast of market and industry trends, best practices and the competitive landscape
- Day-to-day responsibilities include developing client pitch materials tailored to client needs, supporting execution of episodic transactions / financings, and supporting relationship bankers to deepen client relationships
- Assist with day-to-day activities across cash management, trading activities, FX and loan activity including KYC maintenance and credit limit management
- Organize and analyze sophisticated financial data used in client proposals and strategic plans
- Prepare written recommendations and create statistical exhibits
- Conduct economic/financial research
- Provide evaluations of a company’s financial performance compared to overall industry and market trends or data
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 2-5 Entry level graduate to up to 2 years of relevant experience
- Understanding of financial statements, accounting treatments and experience in financial modelling a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated planning and organizational skills
Education:
- Bachelor's degree as a minimum
