Job Summary
This position performs all diagnostic laboratory tests including color Doppler ultrasound evaluation of the carotid, peripheral, (upper and lower extremity) and visceral venous and arterial systems as well as plethysmographic testing of the arterial and venous circulation. This position is also responsible for preliminary interpretation and transmittal of study results to referring physicians.
The hours for this position are Thursday and Friday 9a-530p, Saturday 7a-330p.
Essential Functions
Perform accurate and quality diagnostic studies
* Correlation with contrast angiography/CT scan/MR/operative findings/patient outcomeInteraction w/ and education of referring physician
* Shortened length of stay because proper exams are ordered. Efficient use of technologist staffReview diagnostic findings with Tech/Med Director
* All exam reports are out within 24- 48 hrs. Excellent customer satisfactionMaintain adherence to the imaging workflow in EPIC and GE PACS. Includes tracking exams in EPIC throughout all the steps in process, verifying images in PACS to insure patient exam types, labeling and orientation are correct. Maintain quality patient care (eg. IV pump operation, oxygen delivery, patient modesty, etc.)
Maintain equipment and general lab appearance
* Minimal to no "down time" on instrumentation. Compliment form patients, visitors, referring physicians regarding clean and professional appearance.Stock supplies
* Par stock maintained and supplies are on hand as neededRetrieve linen from laundry
* Linen and towels are available as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma/GED
Graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound Program
Registered Specialty with the ARDMS
1-3 years clinical ultrasound experience
Requires 30 CE credits per three year rolling triennium to maintain active ARDMS status.
Knowledge/ability to operate diagnostic ultrasound units capable of B Mode, M Mode, color and pulse wave Doppler and 3D imaging.
Ability to utilize EPIC medical information system.
Ability to utilize GE PACS. Ability to utilize Trophon disinfection systems.
Workstation/PC operational knowledge.
PREFERRED:
Associates Degree
