As a Senior Installation Engineer, you will play a key role in leading installation activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will collaborate closely with customers, project teams, and installation professionals while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Supervision:
Accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and successful handovers throughout the installation process.
Ensure the correct use of KONE installation methods and tools, conducting appropriate risk assessments where standard methods are not feasible.
Lead proactive site preparation, site readiness, customer deliverables, site visits, audits, and the resolution of non-conformities.
Verify the site execution plan and field cost management during the pre-delivery review, assuming responsibility for installation execution and handovers.
Maintain accurate S-plan milestones, including material delivery (MS 3c) and milestone confirmations (3–5z).
Support the Project Manager and Project Administrator in verifying payment status in line with the S-plan concept and contract terms.
Plan and coordinate installation activities, logistics, site storage, resources, tools, and material deliveries.
Manage goods receipt, site materials, and installation handovers to KONE installers and subcontractors, ensuring clear scope, timelines, and productivity targets.
Conduct regular team huddles to promote collaboration, remove obstacles, improve workflow efficiency, and minimize waste.
Deliver variation sales and change orders while ensuring recoverable costs are identified and collected.
Verify installation quality, oversee final testing, close outstanding items, and complete a successful handover to the maintenance team.
Manage installation documentation, progress reporting, cost tracking, time approvals, risk management, schedule changes, and environmental responsibilities, including waste and hazardous material handling.
Customer Relationship Management
Serve as the primary customer contact for all site management activities.
Build strong customer relationships through proactive communication and by ensuring a safe, professional, and high-quality installation experience.
People Leadership & Subcontractor Management
Ensure installers, testers, and contractors are trained, certified, competent, and capable of performing their assigned work.
Promote a safe, motivated, and high-performing work environment.
Identify training and development needs and communicate them with line managers, HR, subcontracting partners, and Procurement.
Lead, coach, and develop team performance while maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.
Continuous Improvement
Champion KONE's standard ways of working and Lean principles.
Empower teams to identify waste, improve processes, and strengthen collaboration.
Coach installation teams on best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Share lessons learned, identify root causes, and promote improvement opportunities using Lean tools such as Go & See, retrospectives, and improvement sessions.
Celebrate team successes and recognize contributions that drive operational excellence.
Are You the One?
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience in the Elevators & Escalators industry, with a proven track record in a similar role.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing on-site teams.
Customer-focused with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent knowledge of health and safety practices.
Fluency in English is essential.
