Role Overview

We are looking for a Mid/Senior Java Developer to join a long-term fintech/banking project. You will design and develop scalable backend services using Java 21 and Spring Boot, working in a modern microservices environment deployed on AWS. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-performance, secure backend systems while collaborating with experienced engineers in an Agile team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend applications using Java 21 and Spring Boot
• Build and maintain REST APIs following best engineering practices
• Develop and support microservices-based solutions
• Manage builds and dependencies with Gradle
• Write and maintain automated tests using JUnit, Mockito, and AssertJ
• Ensure code quality through SonarQube and code reviews
• Work with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines
• Deploy containerized applications using Docker on AWS
• Implement logging and monitoring using Logback, SLF4J, and Grafana
• Develop event-driven solutions using Kafka
• Work with PostgreSQL and Redis
• Apply security best practices throughout the development lifecycle
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment

Must-Have Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with Java development
• Hands-on experience with Java 21 and Spring Boot
• Experience with microservices architecture
• Strong knowledge of REST API development
• Experience with Gradle
• Experience with JUnit, Mockito, and AssertJ
• Knowledge of SonarQube
• Experience with GitLab and CI/CD
• Hands-on experience with Docker and AWS
• Experience with Kafka
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and Redis
• Understanding of security best practices and DevOps principles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Lithuanian, Latvian, or Estonian citizenship (mandatory due to background check)
• English level B2+
