Responsibilities / Tasks
Employee is the semi-automated milkings (DairyProX) expert at GEA. This field-based role serves as the technical expert for DairyProX, GEA’s new semi-automated milking system. They are the technical project manager to assess new prospective customers at the pre-sale phase and then manage the technical process for product installation, commissioning, then optimization processes throughout the product’s lifecycle. The DairyProX technical project manager must have excellent communication skills and will need to work with engineering, technical support, product management, dealers, dairy producers, and industry experts to be successful in this role.
Work with engineering and product management on new product roll out
Become the technical expert on DairyProX semi-automated milking system
Work with technical documentation department to update manuals when needed
Create quick guides for DairyProX
Support both technical and sales training for DairyProX
Support project execution for installations
Technical field expert for DairyProX NAM
Support in field installations and optimization of DairyProX
Support creation of online training courses and face to face classes
Project management support of installations
Support direct sales
Have basic knowledge on system cleaning and “Good Cow Milking”
Gain and maintain expert knowledge of features and benefits of DairyProX
Analyze and review pre-start-up product requirements to ensure system stability and reliability
Consult and support customers with troubleshooting equipment and software related issues, with ultimate solutions
Reporting, evaluating and follow-up on farm visits/ start-ups for DairyProX
Communicate with management by means of call reports, progress reports, and dealer evaluations.
Assist in development of training
Lead relevant trainings to internal GEA teams and external customers
Travel up to 80%
Lead Responsibilities:
Assessment and project management of DairyProX semi-automated farms/dealerships
Installation, commissioning, and startup of DairyProX semi-automated farms
Ensure DairyProX requirements are completed on farm before installation
Training on DairyProX operation on farm
Support DairyProX hardware and software to ensure success in the market
Ability to assess whole farm system to determine how to best optimize the hardware, software, maintenance, and routines to support dealers and customers
Support regional team as an expert on the above topics
Manage the process for on-farm work to ensure proper installation, commissioning, and startup of systems
Your Profile / Qualifications
Troubleshooting competency, but not limited to:
Multimeter testing of electrical circuits
CAN_BUS, RS-485, and ethernet
Pneumatic circuits
Electronic logic both PCB and PLC
Proficient with all diagnostic tools and applications related to GEA
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Other duties as assigned.
The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $38 - $45 per hour. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States. The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. You may be eligible for additional rewards, such as discretionary bonus (based on eligibility) and/or equity awards.
