Production Manager

As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the entire production cycle. You will ensure that processes operate safely and efficiently, adhering to PPG's safety standards, meeting deadlines and quality requirements, optimizing resource utilization, promoting continuous improvement, planning production, managing equipment, and implementing safety and quality policies.

This position reports to the Plant Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute the production program according to demand, installed capacity, and raw material availability.

• Ensure the operational continuity of reactors, emulsification systems, polymerization systems, and chemical handling equipment.

• Optimize resource utilization: labor, energy, equipment, and raw materials.

• Manage process changes (MOCs), ensuring risk analysis, technical validation, regulatory compliance, cost reduction, capacity increase, and optimized use of raw materials and energy.

• Guarantee adherence to polymerization/emulsification recipes and parameters.

• Lead the resolution of deviations and nonconformities.

• Reduce operating costs (energy, waste, downtime).

• Lead process improvement and capacity expansion projects.

• Ensure the reliability of reactors, agitators, dosing systems, and heat exchangers.

• Mastery of key performance indicators (KPIs) for production: OEE, yield, efficiency, waste, rework, plan adherence, and costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial environments within the chemical, petrochemical, resins, emulsions, polymers, or related sectors.

• Solid knowledge of chemical processes for resins and emulsions, including reactions, formulations, control of critical variables, and safe operation.

• Experience using ERP and production control systems.

• Intermediate to advanced English, desirable for interaction with corporate, suppliers, and auditors.
