Job Title
Shipping/Receiving Clerk I 1st ShiftPosition Overview
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Responsible for receiving and shipping goods to and from Plant HW as well as inventory accountability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge, & responsibility):
1. Receive shipments from Distribution Facilities on the mainframe as well as Plant HW Shop Floor.
2. Receive shipments from vendors of Plant HW.
3. Ensuring that all finished production units advance from the shop floor system to the mainframe system.
4. Communicate effectively with Shaw Transportation and other trucking agencies to arrange for trailer pick-up and drop off. Create Bill of Ladings; as needed; for these shipments.
5. Create shipments to Distribution Facilities.
6. Communicate with incoming and outgoing shifts (if applicable) to ensure that all work to be completed and already completed is understood.
7. Responsible for the integrity of all shipments & receipts.
8. Loading and unloading of trucks.
9. Check all waste dumpsters daily to ensure there are no issues / concerns. Communicate with management if issues / concerns arise.
10. Conduct inventory assessments and investigate inventory discrepancies. 11. Reconcile all inventories on a weekly and monthly basis as needed
12. Assist with the plant waste management duties.
13. Assist with receipts in PeopleSoft.
14. Be knowledgeable of all manufacturing processes within the plant.
15. Report on and manage match exceptions weekly.
16. Assist with chemical inventory as needed.
17. Responsible for ensuring the correct labeling and storage of hazardous waste, shipping hazardous waste, and maintaining all manifests.
18. Any other task assigned by the supervisor or lead
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES (considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge, & responsibility):
1. Manually moving production data from one process to another in the event of a system failure.
2. Accomplishing any other tasks or training assigned by the Department Manager.
3. Serve on various committees as needed.
4. Perform Cycle Live, Receive in Raw Material and Chemicals and Investigate and Solve Match Exceptions when applicable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be able to stand for long periods of time or sit for long periods of time if necessary.
2. Must be able to bend, reach above head, and lift more than 25lbs. occasionally.
3. Must be able to climb stairs to access necessary plant areas.
4. Must be able to visually read and analyze reports and information.
5. Must be able to drive a lift truck when needed.
6. Computer experience required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
1. Understanding of the mainframe computer operation and current computer systems and software.
2. Ability to make sound decisions based on customer and employee needs and plant and corporate goals.
3. Understand the manufacturing process within the plant.
4. Communicate effectively verbally and written with different levels of the internal organization and external customers.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
1. Essential knowledge in the following areas after training: shop floor control system, production scheduling system, hardwood manufacturing process, and hardwood mainframe screens.
2. Lift truck training.
3. Must have all OSHA, SAFE, SMS, and plant specific training.
4. All other job specific training as requested by the Department Manager.
5. DOT Hazmat training
TOOL, EQUIPMENT, & MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. General office equipment including shop floor computer terminal.
2. All PPE listed on JHA
SAFETY & SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must comply with all required OSHA, SAFE, and plant specific safety rules and regulations.

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
