Description
Provides professional customer service and sales assistance to visitors and members of the Monroe Country Club. Work is performed under the close supervision of the Golf Course Manager.
This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; work requires reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is not subject to adverse environmental conditions.
Assisting customers with needed information; answering phone calls and emails; collecting and accounting for fees and charges; assist with maintaining records and files for merchandise inventory and sales, memberships and staff training. Assists members with membership registration, questions, and concerns. Encourages the sale of new memberships by providing information and answering questions. Enters membership data, program information, and fees into computer system. Handles the sale of resale items in the pro shop. Confirms membership status as members use their membership cards. Collects fees for program services. In absence of the Golf Course Manager resolves conflicts and complaints in a positive and effective manner. Addresses reports of safety or repair issues. Responds to accidents and emergencies in a calm, efficient manner; manages the scene; communicates with emergency responders; completes incident forms. Ensures all Pro Shop areas are well-maintained. Maintains a positive and enthusiastic relationship with customers and members. Assists with training and scheduling of Pro Shop Attendants. Performs related tasks as required.
General knowledge of standard office procedures, practices, and equipment; general knowledge of golf course operations and functions ; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to compute basic fees and operate point of sale system to include membership module; ability to multi-task and work at a face pace; skill in the use of a variety of office machines; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and strong customer service experience in retail or service salesPossession of an appropriate driver’s license valid in the State of North Carolina.
