Freight Operations Clerk

Manpower Malta is seeking to recruit a Freight Operations Clerk to join our client's team.

The successful candidate will support daily freight forwarding and logistics operations across sea, air, and road transport. The role involves managing shipment bookings, preparing transport documentation, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and providing clients with regular shipment updates.

This position is suitable for an organised and detail-oriented individual who can manage several operational tasks at the same time. Previous freight forwarding experience is preferred but is not essential, as candidates with relevant logistics qualifications and a willingness to learn will also be considered.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate freight bookings with shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, agents, warehouses, customs brokers, and other logistics partners.
• Prepare and process shipping instructions, bills of lading, airway bills, customs documents, and other required operational documentation.
• Track sea, air, and road shipments, providing clients with accurate and proactive updates regarding delivery progress.
• Handle customer enquiries and resolve delays, damages, documentation discrepancies, or other operational issues professionally.
• Participate in an after-hours on-call roster and maintain effective communication with clients, carriers, and internal departments.

Key Requirements:

• A diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or an IATA certification would be considered an advantage.
• Previous experience in freight forwarding, shipping, transport, logistics, or a related operational role is preferred but not required.
• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail when handling bookings and documentation.
• Ability to solve problems, manage priorities, and work effectively under pressure.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with a professional and customer-focused approach.
