The ARC of the Treasure Coast is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee the financial operations of the agency. This leadership role is responsible for financial planning, budgeting, reporting, accounting, payroll, and supporting the overall financial health and stability of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all agency financial operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, banking, and investments.
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Develop and monitor agency and department budgets.
- Prepare financial information for grant proposals and monitor grant funds.
- Coordinate and prepare for the annual financial audit.
- Monitor collections, deposits, reconciliations, and client individual accounts.
- Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and applicable financial requirements.
- Provide financial guidance and training to department managers.
- Work closely with the President/CEO, Finance Committee, Board of Directors, and department leaders on financial matters.
- Review vendor, outsourcing, and government contracts for financial accuracy and viability.
- Assist with agency risk management and financial planning.
- Oversee financial systems, billing processes, and related administrative functions.
- Serve as the agency liaison for Information Technology and other assigned operational areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. An Associate degree with five (5) years of related experience may be considered.
- Experience: Previous experience in accounting, financial management, budgeting, and financial reporting. Nonprofit experience preferred.
- Previous management or supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial management practices.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and audits.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and other financial accounting software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidential information and work effectively under pressure and deadlines.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Level II background screening.
Physical Demands
Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods, as well as stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift or move office materials as needed.
