Position Summary:

The Rental Technician is responsible for assisting guests with selecting, fitting, and adjusting rental ski and snowboard equipment to ensure safety, comfort, and performance. This role includes maintaining rental inventory, inspecting gear for damage, and educating customers on proper equipment use. Technicians provide friendly, knowledgeable service in a fast-paced environment, helping guests have a safe and enjoyable mountain experience.

Additionally the Rental Technician will rotate in to the Gear Check storage facility and collect fees for holding guest’s equipment.

Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:

  • Inspect skis and snowboards for damage or wear, prior to checking equipment out to guests.
  • Fit guests for rental boots and assist them buckling and lacing the boots.
  • Set up skis to fit the boot properly including setting binding release tension properly.
  • Set up snowboards to match boot size and help adjust the stance for each guest.
  • Assist with equipment testing and maintenance, including waxing of equipment.
  • Provide expert customer service and communicate with guests to understand their equipment needs, explain repair options, and offer recommendations for optimal performance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and follow industry and resort safety protocols when handling equipment, especially with binding adjustments and DIN settings.
  • Cash handling expected when working the Gear Check facility.

Specific Job Skills:

License/Certifications- Alpine Binding manufacturer certifications, in-house training is provided.

Technical- knowledge of equipment and machines used for equipment waxing as well as technical knowledge of skis and snowboards.

Physical Capabilities- Ability to stand for the entirety of a shift and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.

Additional- Strong guest service and attention to detail.
 

Education/Related Experience:

Minimum education required- High School diploma preferred

Minimum time in related position- Ski and/or snowboard experience preferred
