About The Role 

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Environmental & Communities Superintendent to join our Cataby Mining Operation. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, managing environmental programs, and promoting sustainable practices.

The Cataby mining operation is located near the Town of Dandaragan, approximately 150 kilometres north of Perth. This position is offered on a Drive in Drive out (DIDO) basis, on a family-friendly 5/2 4/3 roster. This means no airports, delays, or weekends away from your family and friends. If you need to be home urgently you can be! 

Key elements of the role include: 

  • Manage the environmental, approvals & community relations needs of the Cataby site 

  • Development of environmental management plans, projects and strategies 

  • Ensure compliance to environmental conditions in planning through to closure. 

  • Support rehabilitation in accordance with Closure and Land Rehabilitation Implementation Plans 

  • Ensure delivery of required mining and environmental approvals 

  • Play a lead role in developing and managing stakeholder relations with community, government and traditional owners 

  • Deliver community relations initiatives and projects 

  • Manage a small team of environment and community professionals 

 

About You  

To be successful in this role, you will have: 

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant environmental or sciences discipline 

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within the resources sector  

  • Working knowledge of mining approvals legislation and processes 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Experience in project, community relations, contractor, and staff management 

  • Excellent time management, presentation, and reporting skills
