Job Description Summary
The Lead Warehouse & Inventory Specialist will be based at GE’s SMS Manufacturing facility based in Stafford, Staffordshire.Managing a small team, you will ensure that components and consumables are stored safely and securely and maintain accurate records of all materials and warehouse transactions.

- We are looking for someone with a Strong background in the management of materials and personnel.
- The candidate must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience of SAP ERP is advantageous.
- The position will require the ability to work under pressure and communicate at all levels to ensure that the business is never subject to stock discrepancy situations.
- The successful candidate will need to be a versatile team player with customer focus, working flexibly with colleagues to ensure that the whole team succeeds.
- Working in a fast-paced environment you must be resourceful, enthusiastic, and dedicated to meeting the business needs, which may at times include covering the duties of colleagues.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Effectively organize workload to meet the demands of the business.
- To contribute towards meeting business objectives and targets.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues in the business.
- To work in accordance with the businesses policies and procedures at all times.
- Comply with health and safety requirements.
- Day-to-day management of the team (covering Warehouse and the Main Storage facility), including attendance and performance management, holiday requests and setting priorities for daily duties.
- Overall responsibility to ensure materials are available for the site to enable continuous production operation.
- Reviewing material shortage risks and/or issues against the production schedule, flagging to site and central stakeholders, and working with procurement to mitigate problems.
- Co-ordinate cycle counting process.
- Overall responsibility for stocktaking and stock take procedures.
- Take the lead on material variances, investigate, and resolve as appropriate using 8D methodologies.
- Work towards business and department KPI’s (SQCD), utilizing and maximizing available storage space whilst achieving the businesses target for inventory turns.
- Track inbound deliveries vs expectation.
- The key link between operations and procurement teams
- Coaching, mentoring, and developing talents within the business.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with Sourcing / Supply chain education preferred; or equivalent experience.
