Materials Coordinator

Plunkett's Pest Control, a family-owned company with over 100 years of history, is adding a Materials Coordinator to our Operations team at our warehouse in Fridley, MN. You'll receive and ship materials, keep inventory accurate, and keep everyone in the loop on stock levels and order status. You'll also lead and train our Materials Associates and help build the processes that keep our warehouse running smoothly. This role is a great fit for an organized, hands-on leader who loves keeping things moving and finding better ways to get the job done.

What You'll Do

• Receive and process purchase orders for materials and equipment, checking quantities, condition, and accuracy
• Keep inventory records up to date, including stock levels, backorders, and discrepancies
• Flag receiving issues, shortages, or damaged materials right away
• Pick, pack, and ship materials and equipment to technicians and branches using approved carriers
• Coordinate drop shipments directly to technicians or locations when needed
• Make sure every shipment is accurate, properly labeled, and sent out on time
• Share stock availability, ETAs, and material issues with internal teams
• Work with our Technical Director on replacements for damaged, lost, or defective materials
• Partner with purchasing, operations, and equipment teams to keep field service running without interruption
• Supervise, train, and coach Materials Associates, providing daily direction and feedback
• Support onboarding and cross-training so the warehouse always has coverage
• Write and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for receiving, shipping, and inventory
• Spot opportunities to improve processes and recommend updates
• Help build a positive, accountable, and safety-focused warehouse culture

What You'll Need

• Experience in warehouse operations, inventory coordination, or materials management
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail
• Ability to follow, write, and explain standard processes
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Comfort with basic computer systems, including inventory software, email, and spreadsheets
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Preferred, but not required:
  • Experience supporting field service, logistics, or multi-location operations
  • Familiarity with shipping carriers and drop shipping
  • Experience creating SOPs or training materials
  • Forklift experience or willingness to get certified

Schedule and Physical Requirements

• Daytime hours, with occasional extended hours based on customer needs
• Regularly lift, push, or pull items over 50 lbs, with frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, and twisting
• Frequent use of a forklift, powered hand tools, and warehouse equipment
• Work in a warehouse environment that may include noise, dust, cleaning chemicals, and changes in temperature
• Occasional use of a company vehicle, ladders, and a respirator
