The Opportunity

You will be joining one of the Agile organisations in charge of designing, implementing, delivering and maintaining Reusable solution to simplify interoperability between diagnostics solutions (Roche and non-Roche instrumentation, LIS, HIS, Edge Systems…) to simplify the development to reduce complexity, time to market, cost of ownership and quality of our internal customers within R&D Departments at Roche Diagnostics.

This position will play a critical role in the team, leveraging deep expertise in Connectivity protocols and solutions and supporting the design, development, deployment and validation of future connectivity solutions while maintaining the current base of deployments across Roche. As a Software Engineer, you will be also lead the ASDLC adoption and Ways of working in your team while preserving quality standards and good software practices. You are expected to show a good customer centric mindset.

For this you will prove  experience in .NET Software Development, Instrument connectivity protocols and Interoperability in general. You can communicate effectively in English with people of different profiles, cultures and your mentoring skills shall contribute to continuous improvement and delivering excellent software efficiently. 

You will be responsible

You can influence decisions within your area of responsibility and connect naturally with business and architecture representatives to provide solutions to our customers. You are able to manage technology, business and reality to design future feasible and efficient solutions.

Who you are: 

• Healthcare Interoperability & Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge of healthcare and laboratory integration standards (e.g., HL7, POCT1-A, ASTM, LIS/HIS) and connectivity solutions for diagnostics environments.
• Software Development & Quality Practices: Proven hands-on C# .NET development background with strong expertise in software design patterns, object-oriented design, TDD/BDD, unit/integration testing, and maintainable code.
• End-to-End Ownership & AI Integration: Track record of full SDLC responsibility (from requirements to deployment), including integrating AI toolsets into development workflows and understanding cloud/frontend technologies.
• Technical Leadership & Architecture: Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, mentor developers, design robust components, and guide architecture/AI strategy alongside product managers and stakeholders.
• Education, Communication & Soft Skills: Degree in CS or related field (Bachelor's + 6 years or Master's + 4 years), with strong problem-solving skills, independence, and fluent communication in English and Spanish for agile, cross-functional collaboration.

You will be based in Sant Cugat, Spain.
