Director of Servicing Compliance

 

The Director of Mortgage Servicing Compliance will be responsible for overseeing and managing the compliance control testing function related to mortgage servicing. This role involves reviewing, developing, implementing, and maintaining controls to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of mortgage servicing regulations and a proven track record in compliance management. This role is for an individual contributor and requires full-time, 100% onsite attendance at our Pontiac office.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance programs for mortgage servicing operations.
• Control test processes to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, investor requirements, and internal procedures.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including Legal, Risk, Servicing, and Operations, to address compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
• Provide guidance to team members on compliance-related matters and ensure ongoing awareness.
• Prepare and submit compliance reports to senior management as required.
• Investigate and resolve compliance-related issues.
• Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in mortgage servicing compliance.

 

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field; Law degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mortgage servicing compliance. 
• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local mortgage servicing regulations, including RESPA, TILA, CFPB guidelines, FCRA, FDCPA, SCRA, State Mortgage Servicing Laws, and other relevant laws.
• In-depth knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, USDA, and private investor servicing requirements.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing servicing compliance programs, policies, and controls.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) or similar are a plus.
