Lead Inspector - Marine Terminals

As a Lead Inspector - Marine Terminals, you will serve as an integral member of the Asset Integrity Group, supporting Supply, Planning & Trading Operations by providing specialized inspection expertise to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of marine terminal assets. Your goal will be to drive continuous improvement in marine terminal inspection programs, processes, and operations while ensuring compliance with all applicable jurisdictional and company asset integrity standards. Your success will be achieved through the effective application of advanced inspection knowledge in areas such as tanks, piping, pressure vessels, welding inspection, and non-destructive evaluation (NDE), while identifying opportunities to enhance asset reliability, safety, and operational performance.

Your Responsibilities:

• Manage Supply, Planning & Trading terminal Inspection Programs, including piping, pressure vessels, storage tanks, pressure relieving devices, and other fixed equipment
• Coordinate and execute inspection activities across terminals and third-party service providers while ensuring compliance with industry codes, standards, and jurisdictional requirements
• Develop, maintain, and improve inspection standards, procedures, schedules, and related documentation
• Support terminal operations by responding to equipment failures, leaks, and other integrity-related issues through field assessments and inspection reporting
• Prepare inspection reports, communicate findings, assess risk, and facilitate the disposition of recommendations
• Identify and evaluate asset integrity risks through the application of damage mechanism and corrosion knowledge
• Support capital projects by developing inspection scopes, providing quality assurance oversight, reviewing inspection test plans, and participating in pre-startup safety reviews
• Conduct field visits to terminals and project sites to support inspection activities, operational reviews, and major maintenance or capital work
• Maintain accurate inspection drawings, equipment records, and asset history documentation

Your Skills:

• Strong knowledge of inspection programs, asset integrity management, welding, corrosion, non-destructive examination (NDE), and applicable regulatory and industry standards
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Strong verbal, written, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and technical reporting systems
• Ability to lead discussions, facilitate decision-making, and act as a key point of contact on complex projects

Travel 

• Travel within Atlantic Canada and the northeastern United States is a requirement for this position. Inspectors spend 50% of their time in an office and 50% of their time in the field during peak periods

Your Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in an Inspection, Mechanical Integrity, Asset Integrity, or related role within an industrial or petroleum environment
• Diploma in Engineering Technology, Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or a Red Seal Trade certification; relevant inspection certifications are considered an asset
• API, AWS, CWB, Thermography, CGSB, NACE, or related certifications and experience working with applicable industry standards and regulations are preferred

The expected salary range for this position is $95,207 - $128,530.  Placement within range will be based on relevant experience, qualifications, and skills
