About the role

Provide senior-level railway earthwork engineering expertise across feasibility studies, detailed design, and procurement, leading the planning, analysis, and design of embankments, cuttings, formation levels, and ground improvement based on topographical and geotechnical data. Prepare earthwork designs, specifications, drawings, BOQs, and cost inputs in close coordination with geotechnical, structural, bridge, drainage, and survey specialists, while supporting construction staging, technical reviews, and stakeholder engagement to ensure safe, resilient, standards-compliant, and cost-effective railway infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct/lead geotechnical data collection and foundation design for proposed project components

• Assess soil treatment requirements and finalize location and type of treatment based on geotechnical findings

• Plan, analyse, and design railway earthworks (embankments, cuttings, formation levels, earth-retaining structures) and carry out stability assessments to optimize design parameters

• Develop earthwork material balance plans and identify suitable borrow and spoil disposal areas

• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, BOQ items, quantities, and rate analysis in collaboration with Railway Bridge, Embankment, and Structural Engineers

• Discuss design criteria, soil treatment approaches, and technical matters with the Employer before finalization

• Review construction methodologies, temporary works requirements, and earthwork sequencing

About You:

• Graduation in Civil or equivalent relevant Engineering discipline;

• 12 years total professional experience, preferably 8 years’ experience in railway field;

• 5 years’ experience in similar type feasibility study and design consultancy, including preferably 5 years’ experience in similar
  post for similar type consultancy;

• Working experience in international donor agency funded project would be preferable;
