This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Homewood Mountain & Lake Club, set on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Homewood, California.

Homewood is seeking a F&B Purchasing Receiver to join the Food & Beverage Department.

Job Summary:

The Purchasing Receiver will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, and documenting all incoming deliveries for the club, ensuring that goods are accurately checked against purchase orders, properly stored, and promptly distributed to the appropriate departments. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, has a sharp eye for detail, and thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Receive all incoming deliveries, unpack and inspect goods for quality, temperature, and damage, and verify quantities and pricing against purchase orders, invoices, and packing slips.
• Accurately receive products and invoices into the purchasing and inventory system, and forward signed invoices and receiving documentation to Purchasing and Accounting in a timely manner.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies such as shortages, substitutions, damaged goods, or pricing errors; process returns and credit requests with vendors.
• Ensure perishable food and beverage products meet quality and temperature standards upon arrival, rejecting items that do not meet specifications.
• Promptly store products in designated areas, including dry storage, walk-in coolers, freezers, and liquor rooms, following first-in, first-out (FIFO) procedures and proper labeling and dating.
• Distribute received goods and fulfill department requisitions for the kitchen, bars, retail, housekeeping, and other departments, ensuring the correct items are delivered in a timely manner.
• Assist with monthly and periodic inventory counts, monitor stock levels, and report low stock, overstock, or slow-moving items.
• Maintain secure control of high-value and restricted items, including alcohol, and ensure storage areas are locked and access is limited to authorized personnel.
• Safely operate equipment such as pallet jacks, dollies, and carts to move and organize stock.
• Keep the receiving dock, stockrooms, and storage areas clean, organized, and free of hazards, and adhere to all safety and health regulations, including proper lifting techniques and use of PPE.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of previous receiving, purchasing, warehouse, or inventory experience, preferably in a hotel, resort, club, or food and beverage operation.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in counting, verifying, and documenting product and paperwork.
• Working knowledge of food safety, product quality standards, and proper storage and rotation of perishable goods.
• Proficiency with computers and inventory or purchasing software;
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with vendors, chefs, and department leaders.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively with minimal supervision.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt quickly based on delivery volume and business levels.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and maintain a strong work ethic.

• Must be able to work flexible hours including early mornings, weekends, and holidays; long hours may be required based on business demand.
• Ability to stay calm and organized during high-volume delivery periods.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, working in cold storage areas, standing and walking for extended periods, and repeatedly lifting/carrying items up to 50 pounds.

The Company’s good faith estimate of the hourly rate it expects to pay for this role is $23 - $25 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
