Senior Sales Engineer - France
About Mimecast
The work people build is worth protecting, and it's harder to protect than it used to be. AI agents now move at machine speed with human-level access, and a small slip-up can become a very public one. We disrupt cybercriminal activity before that happens. We think fast, go big, and always demand more of ourselves. We work hard, deliver, and repeat. We grow with real determination and put success well within reach. We push each other to be better and expect to be pushed back, in a community built on respect, where everyone is counted. Work Protected.
Overview
Mimecast is growing its Sales Engineering team in France and looking for a Senior Sales Engineer, ideally based out of our Paris office, to bring our connected Human Risk Management platform story to life for enterprise customers and channel partners across the French market.
In this senior, customer- and partner-facing role, you'll own the technical strategy and execution across complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise opportunities. You'll lead proof-of-value engagements, present to executive audiences, and mentor junior Sales Engineers. Channel is central to how Mimecast scales in France, so you'll also play an important role in enabling and selling through distribution and reseller partners. You'll be supported by regional Sales Engineering leadership while serving as a trusted source of technical and commercial judgment for the team.
What You'll Do
- Own the technical strategy for complex, multi-product enterprise opportunities, from discovery and proof of value through technical close
- Deliver executive-level presentations and demonstrations to IT, security, and business stakeholders
- Partner with Account Executives and Account Managers to build deal strategy, qualify opportunities, and align solutions with customer outcomes
- Lead and scope proof-of-value engagements against defined success criteria, including complex and strategic deployments
- Mentor and coach junior Sales Engineers on technical depth, deal strategy, and presentation skills
- Support RFP, RFI, and tender responses with accuracy and commercial awareness
- Enable channel and distribution partners through joint selling, technical enablement sessions, and partner-facing content
- Maintain timely and accurate opportunity and proof-of-value notes in Salesforce
- Contribute to field marketing activities, including webinars, events, and thought leadership
What You'll Bring
- Advanced Sales Engineering or Solutions Engineering experience, ideally within a cybersecurity or SaaS vendor, with the autonomy and judgment to lead complex enterprise opportunities
- A demonstrated track record of enabling and selling through channel and distribution partners
- Hands-on technical knowledge across data protection and insider risk, email security, and related domains
- Experience working with large or strategic enterprise accounts and navigating multi-stakeholder sales processes
- Proven ability to lead complex proof-of-value engagements through successful technical close
- Strong presentation, demonstration, and written communication skills, including confidence engaging executive audiences
- Awareness of the competitive security landscape and the ability to position solutions effectively
- Familiarity with AI tools, such as Claude, to support day-to-day work
- Willingness to travel for partner enablement, customer and prospect meetings, and marketing events
- Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written, to engage local customers and partners as well as global stakeholders
- Degree-level education is preferred but not required
- Relevant industry certifications, such as vendor-specific credentials, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent
- Eligibility to work in France without visa sponsorship
