Job Description

Ready to make your mark in global finance organization? Spend an unforgettable summer at Invesco alongside a select group of driven students. Our 9-week Summer Internship Program offers you the opportunity to work within Global Business Services (GBS) and the Global Controller team, supporting critical accounting and reporting functions across North America and EMEA.

As part of our Summer Internship Program cohort, you’ll participate in orientation, networking events, development workshops, and volunteer activities. You’ll work side by side with talented teams to learn about the business and contribute to meaningful initiatives that shape our financial processes and reporting standards.

If you enjoy working with numbers, analyzing data, and supporting compliance efforts, this role offers a unique opportunity to apply your skills in a dynamic environment. You’ll help manage accounting processes, assist with public company SEC reporting, and contribute to audits and process improvements.

Here’s the best part: crush your internship, and you could be eligible for a full-time offer to join our Early Career Program after graduation!

What you’ll do

  • Assist with accounting for North America and EMEA expenses

  • Utilize general ledger applications to prepare monthly journal entries and perform monthly/quarterly account analysis

  • Support Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, including tracking payments, reconciling accounts, and resolving discrepancies

  • Assist with SEC reporting and compliance: contribute to preparation of SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K), quarterly disclosure committee materials, and SOX controls

  • Monitor and reconcile daily share transactions, prepare wire transfers, and support monthly expense reimbursement reporting

  • Facilitate internal and external audits and respond to ad hoc requests to support senior management decision-making

  • Compile data for business partners to review accruals during month-end and quarter-end close

  • Support quarterly metrics reporting and process improvement initiatives

  • Participate in team meetings with Accounting leadership to explore ways to streamline and improve processes

  • Support the evaluation, testing, and adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions by identifying opportunities to improve business processes, assisting with the development and validation of AI agents and automation tools, and analyzing outcomes to ensure effectiveness, accuracy, and alignment with business objectives

  • Perform other ad hoc duties as necessary

What You Get

  • Broad Exposure to the Accounting organization – Contribute to projects spanning peer analysis, financial statement analysis, accounting policy, expense management, and process improvement initiatives

  • Access to Finance Leadership – Connect with finance leaders throughout the summer and gain insight into how strategic decisions are made across the business

  • Cross-Functional Projects & Ownership – Work on initiatives beyond your immediate team and take ownership of meaningful projects, with opportunities to see work through from concept to completion

  • Career Launchpad – Build real-world skills and set the foundation for a future at Invesco and beyond

  • Dedicated Mentorship – Get paired with a mentor to guide your experience and support your growth

  • Intern Community – Collaborate, share ideas, and build lasting connections with fellow interns

  • Pathway to Full-Time – Strong performance may lead to a full-time offer through our Early Career Program

Minimum Qualifications

  • A major in accounting is required

  • General knowledge of accounting principles gained through coursework

  • Must be able to work in one of Invesco’s offices where the program is available

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis. We do not offer any type of employment-based immigration sponsorship for this program. Invesco will not provide any assistance or sign any documentation in support of any other form of immigration sponsorship or benefit including optional practical training (OPT) or curricular practical training (CPT)

  • Relocation and housing will not be included if an offer is extended

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel advanced functionalities

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Team-oriented with reliability and follow-through

  • Interest in financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement
