Systems Engineer TS/SCI w/Poly

Responsibilities

Peraton is currently looking for a Systems Engineer to help the project with managing Operational Systems, as well as creating and managing dataflows using tools such as Apache NiFi. The team member will review/process DMR's and provide solutions to implement efficient Dataflows. In addition the team SE would also participate in Dataflow modernization efforts migrating current flows on hardware to the virtual cloud environment. This entails evaluating the current Dataflows, building out requirements, then working with Operations team members in rebuilding new flows. This position requires on-call after hours support.

 

 

Monitors, analyzes, and detects cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks under general supervision. Assists with integrated, dynamic cyber defense, coordinates and maintains security toolsets to support organizations’ continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization programs. Establishes a framework by which cyber risk can be measured and quantified in the marketplace. Determines security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements; researching information security standards; conducting system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments; studying architecture/platform; identifying integration issues; preparing cost estimates. Implements security systems by specifying intrusion detection methodologies and equipment; directing equipment and software installation and calibration; preparing preventive and reactive measures; creating, transmitting, and maintaining keys; providing technical support; completing documentation. Verifies security systems by developing and implementing test scripts. Maintains security by monitoring and ensuring compliance to standards, policies, and procedures; conducting incident response analyses; developing and conducting training programs. Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and integration of a DoD IA architectures, systems, or system components for use within computing, network, and enclave environments. Ensures that the architecture and design of development and operational systems are functional and secure. This includes designs for program of record systems and special purpose processing nodes with platform IT interconnectivity.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have experience with the following;

• 8+ years of data flow experience
• Minimum working 12 year’s working within the Intelligence Community working with mission systems and mission data formats
• Extensive experience with Mission Systems that process and manage mission data
• Experience working with mission data formats
• Experience managing hardware and working from the Linux Operating Systems CLI to manage NiFi configurations and perform software upgrades
• Experience building out NiFi clusters using Zookeeper
• Experience reviewing and processing, or creating Dataflow Management Requests, DMRs
• Experience with Apache NiFi functionality for managing and building complex Dataflows
• Experience managing analytical needs and requirements
• Experience in creating Systems Architectural Diagrams depicting software and system functions
• Experience with software such as; Zookeeper, Elastic Search, Grafana, NiFi Registry

Basic Qualifications:

• Twenty (20)years’ experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required. Bachelor’s degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
• Five (5)years of additional SE experience may be substitute for a bachelor’s degree. Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph required.

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
