POSITION SUMMARY:

Sugarbush Resort is seeking caring, energetic, and dependable Part-Time Caregivers to join our Sugarbush Day School team. In this role, you will help provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children ranging from 6 weeks to 6 years old, while ensuring compliance with all Vermont Non-Recurring Childcare regulations and program standards. Responsibilities include planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, supporting children's developmental growth, maintaining a safe and welcoming classroom environment, and building positive relationships with children, families, and fellow team members. Caregivers are also responsible for helping ensure that all equipment and facilities remain clean, safe, and well-maintained. We are currently hiring for part-time seasonal positions, with opportunities for growth into year-round or full-time employment for the right candidates. The starting pay $18/hour, with compensation based on experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children in the program for each day.
• Carry out planned activities implemented by the Room Leader.
• Feed the children according to schedule set forth.
• Ensure that the equipment used daily, and facility (room area) are cleaned thoroughly and remain a safe environment at all times.
• Be familiar with emergency procedures.
• Ensure that children are supervised at all times and in compliance with Non-Recurring Childcare guild lines.
• Provide opportunities for sleep and rest.
• Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable in.
• Implement positive discipline when needed.
• Clearly and effectively communicate with the children and other staff members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school education or a combination of education and experience from which equal skills and knowledge are acquired.  
• Three references in childcare.  
• One completed course in Early Childhood or Human/Child Development and at least 1-year experience in a childcare center.
• Specialized skills in some form of activity applicable to children's interest and the school's programming.
• Well-developed customer service skills.
• The ability to handle customer complaints and special requests and interact effectively with customers and coworkers.
