Dental Assistant Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable, motivated Dental Assistant to support our doctors and clinical team while providing an excellent patient experience. The Dental Assistant will help maintain an efficient patient flow, prepare treatment rooms, assist during procedures, maintain infection-control standards, and support the overall success of the office. 

Requirements

Dental Assistant Qualifications 

• Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA Compliance Standards required
• Current Radiographic Certification required
• Advanced knowledge and use of dental terminology preferred
• CPR certification required
• Infection Control certification required
• Means to travel from one office to another, required as necessary
• Vast knowledge of different types of dental procedures

Dental Assistant Responsibilities and Duties 

• Assist doctors during dental procedures
• Prepare and break down treatment rooms
• Follow sterilization and infection-control protocols
• Take dental radiographs when appropriately licensed/certified
• Review and prepare the schedule for upcoming procedures
• Ensure rooms, instruments, and materials are ready before treatment
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation as assigned
• Support patient education and treatment understanding
• Help maintain efficient patient flow and minimize delays
• Maintain inventory and communicate supply needs
• Work collaboratively with doctors, front office, and clinical team
• Follow company policies and all applicable dental safety requirements
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and team huddles
• Other duties as assigned by the Office Manager, Regional Manager, and/or Dentists 

Dental Assistant Education

• Certification from an accredited Dental Assisting program preferred

Dental Assistant Experience

• Dental assisting experience preferred; current applicable certifications; knowledge of dental terminology and procedures; strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment; dependable attendance and punctuality; and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
