CDL-A Regional Driver - Paid Training for Grads

Polk County drivers: preloaded freight out of Bradenton to cities east of the Mississippi.

Just got your CDL-A? Good. This job is open to new drivers, and nobody expects you to know everything yet.

Pay and miles

• $650 per week while you train
• Guaranteed $1,000 a week for your first 90 days solo
• $1,400 average per week
• About 2,000 miles weekly
• Home every two weeks
• $50 per extra stop, $150 unload pay

The things new drivers ask most

• "Does my CDL school count?" If it was 120 hours or more, yes.
• "I am not good at backing yet." Nobody is on day one. You get weeks of practice with a mentor next to you before you ever drive alone.
• "What if my first solo weeks are slow?" You still get at least $1,000 a week for your first 3 months.
• "Will I be gone for months?" No. You are home every two weeks.

What the first weeks look like

1. A recruiter calls you and reviews your CDL and MVR together with you.
2. You attend orientation (2 days max). The hotel is paid, your one-way bus ticket is reimbursed, and you get $300 for orientation when hired.
3. You spend 4 to 6 weeks driving with a mentor, learning to back, plan trips, keep logs and fuel. That earns you $650 a week.
4. You are assigned your own late-model truck (1.5 years old on average), 10-speed or automatic. For 3 months your weekly pay will not go under $1,000.

Day to day

Preloaded trailers with multi-stop deliveries. Unloads are physical, and you are paid $150 for each one.

Runs stay in the eastern states.

You will need

You must be 21 or older with a Class A CDL. New drivers need at least 120 hours from a CDL school; otherwise, 6 months of recent experience. We accept up to 2 moving violations in the last 2 years and no DUI/DWI in the last 10. You will also pass a DOT physical and a hair and urine drug test.
