## The impact you’ll make

As a Mechanical Engineer at Lam, you're designing and defining cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Your role involves feasibility studies, testing, and guiding teams in detailed design and fabrication. You provide the crucial design information needed to shape our technology's packaging.

## What you’ll do

• Drive innovative mechanical development projects during the concept and feasibility phases, focusing on novel technologies and breakthrough approaches for future semiconductor applications.
• Develop and evaluate engineering concepts, applying strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and technical expertise to transform ideas into viable solutions.
• Prepare and present high-quality technical reports, analyses, and design review presentations to effectively communicate design intent, evaluation results, and validation outcomes to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with suppliers and internal engineering teams to ensure solutions are manufacturable, cost-effective, reliable, and compliant with product requirements.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering professional growth and engineering excellence.
• Ensure designs and system concepts meet all applicable engineering, compliance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Support risk assessments, trade-off analyses, and technical decision-making throughout the product development process.

## Who we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related field with 5+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 3+ years; or equivalent experience.
• relevant engineering experience in mechanical design, or concept engineering with 2+ years of experience
• Strong analytical skills and numerical aptitude, with the ability to evaluate complex technical challenges.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to independently drive technical investigations and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional experience in semiconductor equipment or advanced technology development environments, with a particular focus on hands-on hardware testing.

• Experience working with suppliers and manufacturing partners during product development.

## What We're Offering

This position is subject to the Austrian Collective Bargaining Agreement for Employees in the Metal Technology Industry in occupation group F. The monthly salary is paid 14 times per year. Please follow the link below in the "Employment in Austria" section for further information.
