The Junior Stress Engineer supports structural engineering activities related to airframe design and provides technical solutions within assigned scope and complexity. This role works with metallic and composite structures, uses engineering software and continuous improvement tools, and collaborates with engineering teams across international locations. 

 

What You Will Do 

  • Evaluate load paths and various aspects of airframe design using metals and composites. 

  • Provide solutions to a variety of technical problems within basic scope and complexity.  

  • Communicate problems, issues, and opportunities to peers and supervision. 

  • Use and validate software and continuous improvement tools to solve problems. 

  • Support assigned tasks and activities related to product metrics. 

  • Prepare technical documentation and presentations using MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 

  • Work closely with engineering teams and stakeholders across international locations. 

  • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. 

  • Maintain a current travel visa to enter the United States for training and event attendance purposes. 

 

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field. 

  • Experience with load paths and airframe design using metals and composites. 

  • Technical writing and proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 

 

Qualifications We Prefer 

  • Basic knowledge of classical hand analysis methods. 

  • Exposure to FEA tools such as NASTRAN, PATRAN, or similar. 

  • Exposure to product development teams within engine or airframe companies. 

  • Basic knowledge of composite and metallic structural materials and/or structural testing. 

  • MRB Stress experience, including structural assessment and evaluation of manufacturing discrepancies.
