Junior Accountant

Geneva | Permanent Position

Join an international financial services organisation as a Junior Accountant, supporting day-to-day accounting activities, reconciliations, reporting and year-end processes across a portfolio of companies and bank accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Record accounting entries for various bank accounts and companies.
  • Process bank transactions, intercompany transactions, investment movements and revaluations.
  • Manage foreign exchange revaluations, accruals and prepayments.
  • Review and control incoming invoices and expenses.
  • Liaise with Treasury regarding supplier payments.
  • Prepare bank and balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Assist with quarterly funding requests and management accounts.
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets and year-end closing processes.
  • Assist with audit and reporting requirements where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and organised accounting and corporate administration files.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports.
  • Support the accounting team with various projects and contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes.

Requirements

  • Accounting qualification, relevant accounting studies or equivalent professional experience.
  • 1–2 years of experience within an accounting department or similar environment.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles; knowledge of IFRS is an advantage.
  • Fluent professional French and English.
  • Good command of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong IT skills and ability to quickly learn and adapt to new accounting systems and software.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Reliable, proactive and able to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
  • Strong sense of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive financial and corporate information.
  • Comfortable working in an international environment and managing multiple priorities.
