Description
5+ Years Required | UPS WorldShip | ShipStation | International | Freight/LTL
Own the shipment. Share your expertise. Get it right every time.
At Plastic Printers, we've spent more than 30 years delivering custom products to businesses throughout the United States and around the world. Our shipping environment is fast-moving and detailed, with multiple carriers, shipping platforms, freight shipments, international orders, and unique customer-specific requirements.
We're looking for a highly experienced Shipping & Logistics Professional who has developed exceptional shipping skills through years of hands-on experience.
5+ Years of Relevant Shipping Experience Required
This position is specifically intended for an experienced shipping professional with a minimum of 5 years of solid, directly comparable professional shipping experience.
We absolutely encourage candidates earlier in their careers to apply to Plastic Printers-we have other opportunities for individuals developing their skills and experience. However, please do not apply for this particular position if you do not meet the minimum 5-year shipping experience requirement.
For this opening, we need someone who can bring established shipping expertise from day one-someone who has personally handled complex, high-volume shipping across multiple carriers, shipping platforms, service levels, freight, and domestic and international shipments.
What You'll Do
-
Personally execute daily shipping while helping ensure shipments are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time
-
Process high-volume domestic and international shipments, including required documentation
-
Work confidently across multiple shipping and carrier platforms, including UPS WorldShip, ShipStation, FedEx, and comparable systems
-
Determine the appropriate carrier, service level, packaging, and shipping method based on each shipment's requirements
-
Coordinate Freight/LTL shipments, including scheduling pickups, preparing freight and documentation, communicating with carriers, and tracking delivery
-
Execute customer-specific shipping requirements including blind shipping, Plastic Printers branded packaging, customer-provided packaging, custom labels, third-party shipping accounts, and special instructions
-
Perform and ensure accurate packaging, label printing, palletizing, shrink-wrapping, and custom packaging
-
Verify addresses, quantities, documentation, labels, packaging, service levels, tracking, and customer-specific requirements
-
Troubleshoot and resolve tracking issues, address problems, carrier discrepancies, damaged or lost shipments, missed pickups, and delivery exceptions
-
Manage multiple shipments, deadlines, carrier cutoffs, and changing production priorities simultaneously
-
Help establish and maintain accurate, repeatable shipping processes and procedures
-
Mentor less-experienced team members, sharing knowledge and reinforcing proper shipping procedures, accuracy, and attention to detail
-
Work across Production, Fulfillment, Customer Service, and other departments to anticipate needs and keep shipments moving
-
Identify opportunities to improve shipping methods, packaging, carrier utilization, costs, accuracy, and efficiency
What We're Looking For
You have spent years working directly in Shipping and have developed the judgment that comes from experience. You don't simply know how to create a shipping label-you understand how to get a shipment where it needs to go successfully, efficiently, and on time, what can go wrong, and how to resolve it when it does.
You're comfortable moving between carriers, platforms, shipping methods, freight, and international requirements. You can prioritize when multiple shipments are urgent, maintain accuracy under pressure, and confidently help others execute established processes correctly.
Most importantly, you take pride in being exceptionally good at what you do and still enjoy doing the work yourself.
Required Experience
-
Minimum 5 years of directly relevant, professional shipping experience - REQUIRED
-
Extensive hands-on experience executing high-volume shipping
-
Strong working experience with UPS WorldShip, ShipStation, FedEx, and/or comparable shipping platforms
-
Demonstrated experience executing domestic and international shipments and documentation
-
Experience working across multiple carriers, service levels, and shipping methods
-
Experience coordinating Freight/LTL shipments
-
Strong knowledge of shipping documentation, carrier requirements, packaging, labels, tracking, and delivery processes
-
Hands-on experience with packaging, label printing, palletizing, and shrink-wrapping
-
Demonstrated ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve shipping and delivery problems
-
Ability to successfully manage multiple shipments, deadlines, carrier cutoffs, priorities, and interruptions simultaneously
-
Ability to mentor others and help ensure established shipping processes are understood and executed accurately
-
Exceptional attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, and follow-through
-
Forklift experience or ability to become certified
-
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and remain active throughout the workday
-
Reliable ability to work on-site Monday through Friday
Please note: The minimum experience requirement refers specifically to professional shipping experience. General warehouse, receiving, packaging, fulfillment, or inventory experience does not replace the required 5 years of directly comparable shipping experience.
Warehouse & Inventory Experience - Preferred
Experience with warehouse and inventory management is a strong plus. This position will also contribute to the successful organization and daily readiness of our warehouse, including:
-
Receiving and verifying incoming materials and supplies
-
Inventory organization, accuracy, and material availability
-
Warehouse storage, staging, and material flow
-
Maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and efficient warehouse
-
Waste and recycling coordination and general warehouse needs
-
Grounds/property needs and upkeep
-
Event setup and teardown
-
Identifying opportunities to improve warehouse organization, inventory practices, and workflow
What Success Looks Like
Shipments go out accurately, professionally, and on time. International documentation is correct. Freight is coordinated. Customer-specific instructions aren't missed. Carrier problems are resolved. Multiple priorities stay organized, and shipping processes are executed consistently.
When another team member needs help, your experience allows you to teach the process, reinforce accuracy, and help ensure the job is done right.
What We Offer
Paid training, medical, dental, vision and life insurance, 401(k) with up to 4% company match, HSA, Employee Assistance Program, Paid Time Off, and paid holidays.
Plastic Printers is a growth-focused, fast-moving company where experienced people have the opportunity to take ownership, improve processes, share their expertise, and make a meaningful impact.
If shipping is a skill you've spent years mastering-and you take pride in both doing it exceptionally well and helping others do the same-we want to meet you.
