General Notes

A previous video production portfolio will be reviewed during the interview process. Position is open to both undergraduate and graduate students.

Purpose

The Video Production Student Worker assists with the planning, filming, editing, and production of video content for training, educational, and promotional purposes. 

Responsibilities

  • Operate cameras, audio, and lighting equipment, and capture high-quality footage 

  • Edit videos using industry-standard software, and create graphics and captions 

  • Organize digital media files and support live or recorded event productions 

  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and stakeholders to ensure projects meet objectives, branding standards, and deadlines 

Required Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of video and film production techniques, including camera operation, composition, and lighting principles 

  • Basic understanding of microphone setup, audio recording, audio mixer operation, and teleprompter use 

  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, creativity, and a willingness to learn new technologies 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with non-linear editing (NLE) workflows and video post-production processes 

  • Experience with editing and production software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, and other audio editing applications 

  • Ability to troubleshoot basic production equipment, manage media assets, and produce polished video and audio content while following established production standards 

Salary Range

$15.00 per hour
