Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Clinic Clerk, you will be the welcoming face and organizational hub of our clinic, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for every patient.Every day, you will expertly manage patient registration and scheduling, efficiently process patient flow, address billing inquiries, and provide essential clerical support. You'll maintain strict confidentiality, handle financial transactions securely, and remain vigilant for any patient needs, all while contributing to a smooth, on-schedule operation.To be successful in this role, you will possess exceptional organizational skills, a customer-centric approach, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive ability to manage a fast-paced environment while upholding the highest standards of confidentiality and efficiency.
- Answers the telephone professionally and courteously within three rings. Projects a pleasant voice and friendly attitude in all telephone communications. Able to appropriately manage multiple calls, while minimizing the time callers are left on hold.
- Routinely operate the Meditech computer scheduling module to schedule procedures in radiology and ultrasound accurately and efficiently. Accurately enter orders into the Meditech order entry module as needed for outpatient procedures in support of the technical staff. Responsible to ensure that the medical history information on the outpatient imaging request is pertinent and appropriate to the exam being requested.
- Provides imaging reports and films upon request of the referring physicians and files films. Ensure timely distribution of reports via fax, courier mail, or volunteers. Establishes and maintains the patient records to comply with regulatory and legal requirements. Maintains the 7-day file and long- term files. Prepares jackets scheduled for the following day. Assists with the daily and annual file maintenance. Is responsible for maintaining warehouse film storage for efficient retrieval of files.
- Maintains the mammography tracking system by accurately entering patient data into the database. Ensures compliance with regulations regarding patient notification of outcomes from mammography procedures. Helps to ensure compliance with ACR, RDS, and MQSA regulatory agencies.
- Routinely communicate with referring physician office staff in delivery of exam results or obtaining additional information for procedures that have been requested. Assist the radiologist with their communication to referring physicians as needed.
- Responsible for communication with patients for follow-up appointment scheduling. Assists in the monitoring of clerical/file processes, recommending modifications for improvement. Provides support to the technical staff by helping to prepare patients for procedures as needed. Assists with patient transport as needed. May duplicate and process films upon request. Performs other duties as necessary.

- Previous clericalor office experience and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 (ninety) Days
Preferred
- Experience in a medical office or hospital environment. and
- Experience with computers, preferably in Meditech
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
