Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiac Surgery Practice at the Medical Office Building in Springfield, Massachusetts. Our Cardiac Surgery team provides specialized outpatient care for patients undergoing cardiac surgical evaluation, treatment, and follow-up, working closely with cardiac surgeons, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary care teams to deliver exceptional patient-centered care.

The Registered Nurse (RN) role offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients throughout their surgical journey while supporting complex clinical care, coordinating services, and helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled nurse who enjoys working collaboratively in a fast-paced specialty practice focused on advanced cardiac care.

The Registered Nurse (RN) Will:

  • Independently assess, develop, and implement care plans for patients with complex medical and psychosocial needs.
  • Perform high-quality patient triage using strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Establish patient-centered care plans and adjust priorities based on changing patient needs.
  • Promote health, wellness, and preventative care for cardiac surgery patients.
  • Support acute and chronic disease management through education, monitoring, and follow-up.
  • Conduct point-of-care testing and quality assurance activities as needed.
  • Build trusting relationships with patients and families while recognizing cultural, social, and individual factors that impact care access and outcomes.

Schedule Details

  • Job Type: Full-Time
  • Shift: Days
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Weekend Requirement: None
  • On-Call Requirement: None
  • Other Scheduling Requirements: No holidays

Required Skills

  • Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Current AHA BLS/CPR certification.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with physicians, providers, staff, patients, and families.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Cardiology, cardiovascular, or cardiac surgery clinical experience.
  • Experience in ambulatory or specialty practice nursing.
  • Strong patient education and care coordination skills.

Compensation

Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.

Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum

$72,800.00 - $101,774.00 - $130,728.00
