A Brief Overview
Responsible for creating an exceptional experience for physicians and advanced practice providers from contract signature through successful integration into Avera Medical Group. This role serves as the central point of contact throughout the onboarding journey, coordinating across multiple departments to ensure a seamless, efficient, and welcoming experience while minimizing administrative burden for new clinicians. In addition, this position provides operational leadership and administrative support for the LIGHT physician and APP well-being program, partnering with physician leaders to coordinate initiatives that promote engagement, connection, resilience, and professional fulfillment. The Manager serves as a relationship builder, coordinator, and problem solver who understands the complexities of a large, matrixed healthcare organization and helps physicians successfully navigate it during their transition into practice.
What you will do
- Coordinates the physician and APP onboarding process from contract execution through first-year integration, ensuring a seamless and consistent onboarding experience.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for incoming physicians and APPs, providing guidance, building trusted relationships, and proactively addressing onboarding needs and barriers.
- Partners with operational and clinical stakeholders to coordinate onboarding activities across recruitment, Human Resources, Medical Staff Services, Information Technology, regional operations, payroll, Epic training, and clinical leadership.
- Monitors onboarding progress and outcomes by tracking milestones, facilitating orientation and training activities, identifying potential delays, and ensuring successful transition into clinical practice.
- Develops, implements, and maintains standardized onboarding resources, tools, communications, and best practices to improve consistency, efficiency, and the overall clinician experience.
- Coordinates the operational activities of the LIGHT Physician & APP Well-Being Program, including program administration, intake coordination, meetings, communications, and collaboration with physician leadership.
- Supports the planning, implementation, and evaluation of physician and APP well-being initiatives, including educational programming, survey administration, participation tracking, outcome reporting, and organizational partnerships.
- Collaborates with physician, operational, and administrative leaders to integrate clinician well-being initiatives into the broader physician experience strategy and organizational priorities.
- Develops and analyzes dashboards, metrics, and feedback to evaluate onboarding and clinician well-being initiatives, measure outcomes, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Leads continuous improvement efforts by recommending and implementing process enhancements that improve operational efficiency, reduce administrative burden, strengthen cross-functional collaboration, and enhance the physician and APP experience.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- Bachelor's in healthcare or business administration, organizational leadership, human resources or related field
- 3-5 years progressive responsibility in healthcare administration, physician relations, project management, or operational leadership experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders
- Ability to build collaborative relationships across diverse teams and leadership levels
Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- Master's in healthcare or business administration, organizational leadership, or related field
- Working with physicians and/or advanced practice providers
- Physician recruitment, onboarding, credentialing, medical staff operations or clinical well-being initiatives
- Experience within a matrixed healthcare organization
