Who We Are…
When we say, “the stuff dreams are made of,” we’re not just referring to the world of wizards, dragons and superheroes, or even to the wonders of Planet Earth. Behind WBD’s vast portfolio of iconic content and beloved brands, are the storytellers bringing our characters to life, the creators bringing them to your living rooms and the dreamers creating what’s next…
From brilliant creatives, to technology trailblazers, across the globe, WBD offers career defining opportunities, thoughtfully curated benefits, and the tools to explore and grow into your best selves. Here you are supported, here you are celebrated, here you can thrive.
Your New Role
This position is responsible for the strategic management of broadcast service providers and the delivery of new initiatives, technical changes and solution evaluations across the WBD APAC region. While Broadcast Operations owns BAU execution, this role owns the commercial, contractual and transformation layer - managing the regional supplier portfolio, negotiating contracts, leading change requests and running the full RFI/RFP lifecycle for new technical solutions (e.g., IP-based contribution and distribution, cloud playout, content delivery alternatives).
The role acts as the primary technical-commercial interface between WBD and the regional broadcast / media service-provider ecosystem, ensuring contracted services deliver against business and operational expectations, and that new initiatives are delivered on time, on budget and to specification.
The Manager, Service Delivery supports WBD APAC and Company-wide projects in collaboration with international departments and service providers, and develops service-management and procurement practices aligned with global WBD standards.
Your Role Accountabilities
- Own the relationship lifecycle for regional broadcast service providers — playout, Satellite teleport, fiber, compression, Encryption, media services and IP distribution partners.
- Lead service-performance governance: SLAs, KPIs, monthly/quarterly business reviews, performance improvement plans and dispute resolution.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with senior counterparts at key media and broadcast service providers across the APAC region;
- Lead commercial negotiations for new contracts, renewals, statements of work and change requests; partner with Procurement, Legal and Finance to close agreements that meet business and technical requirements.
- Track contract obligations, renewal dates, pricing benchmarks and total cost of ownership across the supplier portfolio; identify cost optimisation and consolidation opportunities.
- Manage the change request (CR) process end-to-end — scoping, pricing validation, technical sign-off, approval workflow and delivery hand-off to BAU.
- Run the full RFI / RFP process for new services and solutions, including:
- Define business and technical requirements in partnership with Engineering, Operations and business stakeholders.
- Build the long-list of candidate vendors and shortlist criteria
- Author and issue the RFI/RFP, manage Q&A clarification cycles, and coordinate vendor presentations / demos / proof-of-concept activities.
- Establish evaluation frameworks (technical, commercial, operational, risk) and run scoring with cross-functional evaluation panels.
- Lead commercial clarification and final negotiation; produce vendor recommendation papers and business cases for senior leadership approval.
- Coordinate contract execution with Procurement and Legal and ensure clean hand-off to delivery.
- Partner with Engineering and the broader team to identify, evaluate and recommend new technical solutions — for example, IP distribution alternatives (SRT, Zixi, managed media networks, public-cloud transport), cloud playout and signal-acquisition options.
- Build business cases that quantify cost, risk, operational impact and strategic fit for senior stakeholders.
- Plan and deliver service-delivery and transformation initiatives end-to-end — scope, schedule, budget, risks, dependencies, stakeholder communication and benefits realisation.
- Coordinate cross-functional delivery across Engineering, Operations, Programming, Affiliate, Procurement, Legal and external partners.
- Drive disciplined transition-to-BAU hand-offs to the Broadcast Operations team — documentation, training, run-books and acceptance criteria.
- Act as the primary technical-commercial point of contact for regional service partners and internal business stakeholders.
- Provide regular status, risk and financial reporting to leadership; escalate clearly and early.
- Champion service-improvement initiatives and represent the team in regional and global forums.
- Develop and maintain service-management documentation, vendor-management playbooks and sourcing best practices.
- Other duties as may be required for this role.
Qualifications & Experience
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder-management skills across technical, commercial and executive audiences.
- Strong commercial acumen — proven contract negotiation and supplier-management experience with broadcast or telecom suppliers.
- Established working relationships with broadcast / media / telecom service providers in the APAC region — or demonstrated ability to build them quickly.
- Strong project / program management discipline; able to deliver multiple concurrent initiatives on time and on budget.
- Operates as a project manager for all delivery and transformation initiatives — owning scope, schedule, budget, RAID (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies) log and governance reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience running structured RFI/RFP and vendor-evaluation processes from requirements through award.
- Ability to scope technical requirements, evaluate options and produce clear, decision-ready recommendations and business cases.
- Ability to work with stakeholders based across different locations and time zones.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision, make commercial and delivery decisions, identify opportunities and initiate projects.
- Strong skills and experience in generating quality documentation — both written and visual drawings (Visio, PowerPoint). Able to work with MS Office, Project and Visio.
- Strong analytical and critical-assessment skills, with attention to commercial and contractual detail.
- Degree in Broadcast Engineering, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, IT, Business or related discipline; or other appropriate Tertiary level education.
- Minimum 10 years background in broadcast / media technology, with significant experience in service delivery, vendor management or technical project management.
- Proven experience leading commercial negotiations and end-to-end RFI/RFP processes with broadcast or telecom service providers.
- Strong understanding of broadcast distribution and contribution technologies — satellite, fiber, IP transport (SRT, RIST, Zixi, SMPTE 2110), CDN and content delivery for linear and OTT.
- Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile/Scrum) or equivalent practical experience is an advantage.
