Position Summary

Performs a wide variety of administrative duties requiring an advanced skill set and knowledge of office procedures and equipment. The Graduate and Nontraditional Program Coordinator provides support for faculty and staff of the SON, students in the graduate program, and nursing academic advising for students enrolled in nontraditional nursing programs. A majority of duties are completed on own initiative.


Job Duties & Responsibilities

Non-traditional Program Advising (Non-traditional Nursing Programs)

  • Serves as academic advisor, guiding students on course registration, academic policies, program progression, and available support services.
  • Responds to prospective student inquiries, evaluates transfer credits, reviews applicants for admission, and provides curriculum and progression planning information.
  • Monitors student progress, maintains regular communication, documents key interactions in Navigate, and works with faculty and program leadership to address student needs and support retention.
  • Collaborates with Online Academic and Career Advisors, extended campus staff, and governance committees to support student success and eligibility processes.
  • Assists with academic operations, including course scheduling, monitoring low-enrollment courses, submitting required forms, and reviewing student files for graduation eligibility.
  • Participates in recruitment and marketing efforts.

Coordinator

  • Serves as a resource for non-traditional and graduate nursing students, providing general program support related to advising, registration, orientation, graduation, licensing, certification processes, and other topics.
  • Maintains student records and lists, admission paperwork, compliance requirements, non-academic Canvas courses, and communications for graduate nursing programs.
  • Coordinates graduate nursing orientations, DNP cohort meetings, clinical registration, and on-campus program activities, including scheduling, room reservations, materials, food, and communication with participants.
  • Oversees Castle Branch compliance requirements for graduate nursing students, including tracker setup, student instructions, monitoring, and follow-up.
  • Communicates and collaborates with campus departments, state Boards of Nursing, students, adjuncts, guest lecturers, and other stakeholders to support program operations and regulatory requirements.
  • Assists with surveys, licensing forms, distance learning/clinical paperwork, and other documentation needed for alumni, students, and state Boards of Nursing.
  • Hires and supervises student workers.
  • Performs related program support duties as needed.

Administrative

  • Provides administrative support for program operations, including scheduling meetings, reserving rooms, arranging audiovisual needs, ordering catering, supplies, and equipment, and coordinating faculty travel.
  • Prepares, edits, updates, and maintains program documents, policies, processes, handbooks, course catalogs, correspondence, meeting minutes, and accreditation-related materials.
  • Supports program financial and workload processes by preparing check requisitions, tracking program accounts, entering budget information in Banner, and inputting faculty workloads into FLAC.
  • Assists with program communications, including correspondence with CCNE and support for program chairs and the dean.
  • Helps coordinate program-related travel and events, including rental cars, hotels, travel documentation, and the annual global trip.
  • Collaborates with others to establish work priorities and schedules while maintaining strict confidentiality and demonstrating a Christ-centered approach with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Publisher.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to prioritize workload in a changing and rapid-paced environment, time management skills, excellent attention to detail, and self-motivation.
  • Friendly and "customer-oriented" when dealing with students, faculty, and others.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a tea
  • Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)

Education & Experience

  • College degree required, along with two to three years of office or advising experience

This is a full-time, exempt (salary) position. The starting wage is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience. Concordia University benefit options include, but are not limited to the following:
