## The team you will be a part of
The Product Design team designs, validates and brings new products to market.; designs, tests and integrates components to produce final designs; and evaluates the design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability and safety. Collaborates with internal partners to optimize designs for manufacturability. Uses CAD/CAE systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings.
## This role in summary
This opportunity is best suited to a creative, forward-thinking industrial designer with a solid foundation working within a fast-paced Product Development environment. Tasked with being the voice of our customer, you will design user-centric solutions that provide genuine value, integrating physical products with emerging digital experiences (IoT/Smart Home), while aligning with our brands' positioning. You will be responsible for driving a continuous stream of innovative and beautiful products that support and enhance the global competitiveness of our brand.
## Your responsibilities will include
- Participate in defining and endorsing cross-category project parameters, utilizing Design Thinking methodologies.
- Ensure a variety of conceptual design alternatives are presented to satisfy both unarticulated user needs and business goals.
- Create aspects of form, aesthetics, and seamless physical-digital interfaces (phygital) between users and products.
- Generate appropriate documentation to satisfy project criteria into the Whirlpool process.
- Collaborate heavily with a multidisciplinary, global team (Engineering, Marketing, R&D, and UX/UI) to deliver the complete Design package.
- Help to create and ensure the flawless implementation of the Visual Brand Language (VBL) across projects.
- Generate high-quality 3D visual assets, images, and renderings to effectively communicate the design intent across the company.
- Create Color, Material, and Finish (CMF) documentation according to brand guidelines and global macro-trends.
- Follow-up on DTV (design-to-value) and DFA/DFM (Design for Assembly/Manufacturing) initiatives to ensure product quality and competitiveness during its life-cycle.
- Create, submit, and iterate rapid prototypes and appearance models alongside our modelshop team.
- Craft and deliver strong, compelling story-telling presentations to stakeholders.
## Minimum requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from an accredited school.
- 3-5 years of design experience in a corporate or consultancy environment (Consumer Electronics, Appliances, or Automotive experience is a strong plus).
- Advanced 3D Computer modeling skills (Solidworks, CREO, or Rhino 3D) and top-tier rendering abilities (KeyShot, V-Ray, etc.).
- Strong 2D digital visualization skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchbook Pro).
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, especially injection molding, sheet metal stamping, and assembly.
- Familiarity with electronics, smart-home ecosystems (IoT), light-guided interfaces, and human-machine interaction (HMI).
- Proficiency or strong interest in leveraging AI design tools (Midjourney, Gemini, Stable Diffusion) to accelerate early conceptualization.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to facilitate alignment across different disciplines (Advanced English is a must).
- Strong project management skills, decision-making abilities, and self-motivation.
- Adaptability and flexibility to change as designs and agile processes evolve.

This position is located at Joinville, the largest city in Santa Catarina state and an important industrial, financial and commercial center of the south region of Brazil. Here in this factory is centered the production of refrigerators, freezers, dryers, water purifiers and B.Blend machines. Also, here it's the base of the global product research and development team in Brazil for the refrigeration, air conditioning, water purifiers, cooking and eletronic areas.
